Project Description

OIL & GAS TREATMENT

At GAS PROCESS we develop, according to project requirements, the appropriate process for oil&gas treatment.

In the case of gas treatment, at GAS PROCESS we have experience in the development of pollutant removal processes to meet the safety, market, or subsequent process specifications to which the gas will be subjected. The most frequent specifications are related to:

  • % Sulfur compound
  • % CO2
  • H2O content or dew point of water
  • Calorific power

Typical natural gas conditioning processes developed by GAS PROCESS are:

Removal of H2S & CO2

The process of sweetening or eliminating H2S and CO2 from natural gas is carried out to avoid problems in the handling and gas processing, as well as corrosion problems, damage to health, and emissions of compounds that cause acid rain, among others.

The presence of CO2 directly affects the calorific value of the gas, as well as promotes the formation of dry ice or solid CO2 in the cryogenic processes of natural gas.

Concerning H2S, it is a toxic and corrosive component associated with water.

Applicable methods: Sulfinol, Amines: DEA, MDEA, Molecular sieves, etc

Dehydration

It consists of removing the water content from the natural gas to reach the transport conditions, to avoid freezing in the cryogenic process line, among other purposes. TEG (Triethylene Glycol) is one of the main solvents used in the industry. TEG significantly removes H2O from Natural Gas; however, small amounts of it (traces) escape the process.

To ensure that these traces do not accompany the feed, adsorption processes are used with materials with small pores, of precise and uniform size that are used as an adsorbent agent for gases and liquids. These treatment systems are called Molecular Sieves.

At GAS PROCESS we design dehydration systems through absorption or adsorption processes that adjust to the conditions or quality parameters of the gas or liquid required by the client.

Mercury Removal

Mercury is a toxic metal that occurs in natural gas that is harmful to the environment, to chemical processes and transport equipment. Mercury extraction is carried out at the natural gas feed inlet when the presence of mercury is detected in its composition.

At GAS PROCESS we manage gas treatment projects for the removal of mercury; these include highly efficient removal processes based on activated carbon or impregnated alumina.
